Berry-Chia Jam

This only requires three ingredients, takes just minutes to make and is much healthier than shop-bought jam.

Ingredients

2 cups mixed frozen berries (you can use fresh if you prefer)

1/2 cup ground chia and/or flaxseeds

Honey, date paste or stevia to sweeten (make date paste by soaking dates in hot water for 5 minutes and blending together)

Instructions

  • Heat the berries in a small saucepan until they are soft and have released their liquid. (If you use fresh berries, you will need to add extra water before heating them since they will not release as much liquid as frozen ones).

  • Mash or blend the berries in the liquid until you have a smooth sauce-like consistency.

  • Allow the berries to cool and then stir in the ground chia and/or flaxseeds. Ensure they are well mixed in. The jam will thicken over the next couple of minutes. If it is too runny add more ground seeds.

  • Sweeten the jam to your taste.

  • Enjoy!
